Hi. I pushed a trick to the master <https://github.com/darktable-org/darktable/pull/716> that will "fix" issues like "ptrace: Operation not permitted.". Once Pascal pushed new PPA, backtraces will be useful.
Until then you could start DT from gdb, make it crash and post useful bt. Also, what causes DT to crash? Specific image?
