I can confirm that the driver from NVidia works for me, as explained in my 
mails on this list some weeks ago (different chipset and distribution though, 
GTX 750Ti on Debian, using the download script provided by Debian). For me it 
was important to remove the previous driver cleanly (“purge” in APT terms) and 
reboot to a text console before installing.

Nobody else have anything to say about this matter? It would be nice if 
somebody could confirm that the solution is to use the driver from 
Nvidia'swebsite instead of the one from xorg-edgers ppa or if there is 
something else I should try.
