Hello,

That's interesting. I am also experiencing your second problem where the selection jumps around when using the mouse wheel to change the size. However, I only get this problem with the Spot Heal module, not for regular drawn masks. In my case, the selection actually moves. It doesn't just appear to move as you described.

I am running darktable 1.6 from Pascal's PPA on Ubuntu 14.04 (and Fedora 21).

Hi, all-

I'm having two issues with drawn masks, which I've been experiencing for as long as I can remember.

The first: when copying a history stack from one image to another using ctrl-c / ctrl-v in lighttable (or in darkroom's filmstrip), any modules that use drawn masks in the original do not retain those masks in the new image. Parametric masks seem to work fine.

Second, when adjusting the size of a drawn mask or its feathered edge by using the mouse wheel, the selection often jumps to another part of the image (or its on-screen indicator appears to). The selection actually remains in the correct position, but the visual outlines showing the selection boundaries jump, making it hard to adjust further.

It's possible these have been fixed in a recent version... I am using an older version of darktable (1.4.2) from Pascal's "release" repository. It appears to be the last version available for my current version of Ubuntu (13.10). Long story, but basically I haven't been able to get newer Ubuntu versions to work on this laptop... otherwise I would be using the latest version of Ubuntu and darktable!

Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on either of the issues.
