It is also a bad idea for me. Why? Because the conversion to DNG offers only two bad options: - convert to DNG and loose encrypted maker specific data. - convert to DNG and embedded the RAW which double the size of the file DNG was/is a good idea but won't fly unless the major camera makers (Nikon, Canon, Sony, Pentax) embrasse it. AFAIK there is only Leica which is using it natively.
