I would have expected that using the colour select tool to choose a colour to use for the shadows then that colour should be used. If you "dial" the colour in, move the small circle to the correct colour or use the colour picker on the select tool then the reuslt is the same - the colour does not get applied. THe H and S values are correctly copied the the V value is always ignored and resets to some form of default.
