As well as just a single image, The Pentax K-3II can also produce what
is termed a Pixel-Shifted 4-image file whereby the sensor is shifted by
1 pixel such that over a course of four consecutive exposures, each
pixel will have been exposed through each RGGB filter of the Bayer array
(similar to what recent Olympus cameras do but using only four
exposures). These 4 files are saved together in one raw file as four
separate images in either DNG or PEF format. The Pentax proprietary
software can combine these images to produce a 16-bitt tiff with a
resultant increase in resolution and color accuracy and decrease in noise.

If the developers so desire, I can link to copies of a pixel-shifted PEF
and DNG on my dropbox. The current dt can load the files but only the
first image is extracted. It would be nice if dt could extract all four
images allowing the user to develop and stack them.
