Each camera produce slightly different RAW files. In many cases, darktable can parse the file for unsupported cameras but lacks data like white balance presets, base curve, noise profile and color matrix. I don't know for G3X Vs others. If it is a matter of unsupported camera, the dt developers are usually quite responsive to add them if you can provide RAW samples.
