You can compare OpenCL performance of cards/builtin chipsets at Compubench.com. As I understand, Nvidia cards are usually more efficient, but AMD seems to offer more absolute performance. So unless you are power-/heat-limited you might want a AMD card. I am happy with a Nvidia GTX 750 Ti, which was the fastest card that didn't need a separate power plug at the time I bought it. Probably there is something new in the meantime.
