Yeah, that's roughly what's expected between 1.6 and 2.0. For example
here's a regression test between the two versions that shows a slight
difference:

In the Stretch diff what you see is the same, just some random noise
that has a little bit of the structure of the image itself. It's
basically impossible to see it without doing this kind of analysis
though.
