Sorry, this is not DT-related directly, but I assume a bunch of Nikon
& Linux users amongst the readership, and I want to foster free
software in general (so it fits DT again ;-)

Striving for a FOSS-only environment, I was again confronted with
updating the firmware on my camera, without having a Windows or Mac
machine available.

The solution [1] is to unpack the Windows installer provided by Nikon
with the command line `unrar` utility, which is available in most
Linux distros.  I've already done this last year for Nikon's D7100.
