Hi,

you can save settings of many modules (probably of all), if you open the 
module (hot pixels in your case) and click on the little horizontal 
lines icon. There it offers you to save "new settings". There you can 
also decide, if the settings should be applied automatically either on 
each image or depending on conditions.

After you saved some new module settings, the saved entry also appears 
in settings->module settings
