First, please accept my apologies for the too big picture attached to my
previous post.
I used a windows machine to concatenate two ~40k pictures, and did not notice
it had
generated such a big one !
I did some more testings : I exported 600+ pictures today, and none did cause
any
problem at all.
Next, I selected the series which the one that caused the crashes belongs to,
and it
did it once more. I even found a second one in the series, crashing the system.
At this point, I must add that I export JPEGs at 100%.
So, to make sure I would not miss anything, I selected both the pictures and
began
to export them at lower sizes, from 75% up to 100%.
It all worked flawlessly, until I reached 100%, then it crashed.
Last try : I exported both at 99%, and it worked fine.
So, both those pictures make the system crash if exported at 100% exactly.
What the hell ? None of my 22000+ pictures did behave this way !
Moreover, it seems - there I agree with you about Ubuntu behaviour - that it is
not
Daktable that crashes, but the system itself, maybe due to a memory problem or
some
other disturbing action Darktable asks it to do.
I don't know how to help tracking that : DT does not trace anything at all, it
obviously
can't, and I doubt a system log (if ever I could find one) would be useable.
Just tell me what to do, and I try.
Regards,
J.-Luc
