Just my 2 cents: Resorting to a more standard UI would be even nicer.
DT is using GTK anyways, but IMHO the balance between looking cool and
beeing usable efficiently is biased a tad too much against usability:
Very small fonts, little contrast, input filds, labels and buttons
look the same, you can't tell where to click and where not because
everything has the same borders.  And I have the impression that every
version of DT is becoming more bauhaus and less user friendly.  I
don't by th “no distraction from the image” argument, because there
are four bright triangles constantly reminding me where the center of
the screen is...
