Thank you, deleting /.config/darktable/library.db solved the problem and
allowed me to launch DT. Then I just had to go folder by folder and import.
Doing so recursively crashed DT because of the scans from the V500 (still a
major problem).
I appreciate the advice on choices, but let's be realistic, even on the Mac
I have lots of choices, including most open source ones, but most pale in
comparison to the feature set of DT, Lightroom or Aperture. I am looking
for ONE tool that gives me cataloging and raw processing. DT is mostly
excellent from a feature standpoint, but the somewhat flaky nature of it
(probably as a result of it being a port) does worry me somewhat. At least
it doesn't touch the actual image files, so there is only so much damage
that can be done!
