Greetings,

First a big note of thank you to darktable developers. Very good software.

Though, I had various basic consumer digital cameras for many years,
only three weeks back I started taking interest in other features of
camera than auto mode. This includes developing raw images. I won't
claim I understand all the knobs and dials of various darktable
modules,so I could be doing something wrong.

Issues:

1. Occasionally main picture window in darktable mode goes black. Could
not find a easy way to reproduce this, but has happened to me at least 8
times. No amount of clearing history brings the picture black.

2. At the end of slide show, I get message press any key to exit. I am
not able to get out of slideshow mode, no matter what keys I press. Only
way I have found is switch to other application.

3. My biggest worry, my laptop overheats when exporting image (just
one). Temperature shoots above 98C and it shutdowns automatically. While
it could be hardware problem with my laptop, I have not seen this
behavior with any other program. I do use my laptop heavily and have
kept cpu busy, but never seen this. When I export, top command reports
cpu to 100% for about 30 seconds before shutting down.

Is there any way to slow down darktable or change some other settings
when exporting image so that all 4 cores are not 100% busy and generate
so much heat to force shutdown laptop. I don't face any problems when I
am working with the image, only when exporting the image.

I am on Ubuntu 14.04, 64 bit. 8GB of ram, plenty of swap and i3
processor. lspci reports Intel integrated graphics controller rev v2.
Will be happy to provide any other information.

Regards,

Niranjan
