Thx Daniel, indeed, I had a conflicting version of beagle-0.0.12 installed. I did the changes you mentioned to my cvs copy and uninstalled the 0.0.12 version. Now I'm compiling and will be reporting my results soon.
On the other hand, how should I handle the problem with libebook?
