The usual crashes dont (aka errors and exceptions). But the ones that
crashes in the C library sometimes brings the whole process to a halt.
It is usually hard to recover from crashes in the native library :-(.

I have to check something ... I am not sure if this error can cause
the behaviour you are seeing. it is a problem in the native library
... so it could very well be the reason.
