Why? Thinking of writing one?

I don't think there is any commercial vendor who fully implements SQL92, but
OpenLink have a new product called 'Virtuoso' which they describe as being
"a full blown SQL 92 based database engine", featuring "Advanced SQL92
support".

It actually sounds pretty cool. As well a being both a SQL92 database, it's
a 'middleware' tool which:
- adds missing SQL92 functionality to 'standard' databases (like Oracle,
Informix etc),
- supports hetrogenous joins across databases

The database engine also features cool stuff like table inheritance :-)

Check out http://www.openlink.co.uk/virtuoso/index.htm for more information.
