OK. Thats all accepted. Hope I didnt offend the SPCA or any animal lovers
with my reference to sheep?

Obviously my next step is to present the boss with all this and argue for
the abandonment of SQL server for the application. I just spoke to MS them
selves about it all, and there line is that the most serious feature of SQL
Server to consider is the TCO. (Total cost of ownership) Need I say anymore?

We are also evaluation ADO right now, and it looks quite good so far.

Sorry, I havne't seen anything, tho if the driver is from MS, looking on
MSDN would be a very good start. or Oracle.com

I hope so - for their sake.

Yup, Oracle is, IMO, about a good as it gets for very LARGE DB's - ie,
running on high-end hardware with staff supporting it. For embeded
systems, with no DBA on hand, IB, for me, takes the cake every time.
Especially the Linux version :)

My opinion: (and it IS MINE, not Inprise's)
Do it properly with a big budget: get Oracle and a DBA or 2
Do it properly without a big budget: get Interbase
Want a support nightmare: get MSSQL without a DBA.

There again, I work for Inprise, so I'm atleast somewhat biased, tho
most of this opinion was formed before I worked for Inprise, when I was
working for an MS shop (Glazier - can you GET more MS-focused?)
