VCHAR sould NOT pad the field with any extra chars, CHAR will, i.e. if you
specify a field of CHAR(25) and you input only 5 charactors into the field,
it will pad the field to fill it up....VCHAR is meant to NOT do this.....

Subject: [DUG-DB]: ADO is Strange...
ADO is strange.... I have an ADOConnection to an SQL Server 7 box, and an
ADOQuery (select * from cdcollection) in a DBGrid.
I have on field that is varchar(64) yet when I edit the column in the DBGrid
I get the contents padded to 64 chars with spaces, is ADO returning 64chars
or is Delphi getting confused?
Also, if I just start typing in the column the grid jumps into edit mode and
updates the table (I guess I dont -need- an UpdateQuery after all, although
I'd hate to see what ADO guesses I want done in some cases) but... if I
click into the field and get the cursor, the DBGrid doesn't allow editing.
This is strange....
