In the attemps to get my app working with both SQL7 and Access and annoying
changes in SQL, I came accross this little oddity, my application runs the
following query:

        SELECT
        dailyptf."BrineFlow"
        , dailyptf."Enthalpy"
        , dailyptf."MassFlow"
        , dailyptf."MeasDate"
        , dailyptf."Pressure"
        , dailyptf."SteamFlow"
        , dailyptf."Temperature"
        FROM
        dailyptf
        WHERE 1=1
         AND
        Object = '6'
AND MeasDate BETWEEN '01-Jul-1999' AND '10-Mar-2000'

But if I try and run it from the Query Analyzer I get:

        Server: Msg 170, Level 15, State 1, Line 2
Line 2: Incorrect syntax near 'BrineFlow'.

Is there a STANDARD way to reference fieldnames in a query that -may-
contain spaces? The query anayzer seems to work if I use
dailyptf.[BrineFlow] but neither double or single quotes work...

And here I thought we had standards for a reason :(
