Hi,

We're scratching our heads trying to figure out how to up IO throughput on a
MySql replicant thats is falling behind the main database.

One thought was to give it a RAID-Z configuration of drives. Based on my
limited research, this is what I believe. Can someone correct or advise me?

(1) The boot drive cannot be part of the RAID-Z pool
(2) In order to get any performance benefit I need a pool of at least 3 drives.

Therefor, we need at least 4 drives in this machine? Is this an effective way
to up throughput for our replicant? Are there better ways? (We are already
using ISAM.)

Thanks

JK
