With alpha and numeric substituted as X and 9s, I am counting occurences of rows in each patterns... 9999-999X-99999999 4-4-8 or 4-31-8 9999-9999X-99999999 4-5-8 or 4-41-8 When running pattern profiler with options all turned off/false, a value for 999X shows up and is counted in the subset for 9999X. While it is a subset, I am trying to do exact matching. Exact match or fail. That is where most of my profiling work starts.
