I've had this before, actually reported it few time too. Been around for a while now (at least since 0.9.3). It has to do with associations, but I never had enough time to track it down. There was a pastie I did about 2 or so months ago with stats doing model.assoc.create vs. Model.create(:assoc => ...). If i can find that pastie, I'll post it back here.
