Could you be activating the gem somewhere in your test folder? Perhaps try something really simple like "grep -r '0.9.6' *" in root of your app? To see if that version is used anywhere. There's no mention of 0.9.6 anywhere in dm-more, so I don't know where it's getting that idea from.
