Hello Louis,

Looks like also have something in /opt/local/lib/mysql5 it seems from that error.

Maybe you have a mysql_config from an old mysql install floating around? What do you have in /opt/local with regard to MySQL?

Do you also have a 32 bit system?

BTW, I don't see any reason why some other gem might have something to do with this, because this is just an issue with do_mysql.

Hehe, looking for help online, I found other posts on quite the same subject by yourself Dirkjan!

Ok so to summup: I have 32bit Ruby/MySQL. Both are working. I added /usr/local/mysql/bin to the PATH which is where my mysql_config executable is located. I then tried to install, and the same error. I made you a pastie of the log file you asked for.

I have no idea about what to try now. I'm pretty desperate :/
