I'm looking at cleaning it up as an actual patch. From what I can tell, this needs to touch data_objects, do_postgres, and dm- transactions. I've sketched out where I think things go in the following gist: http://gist.github.com/598001 I've left comments in the gist as to specific questions. I'd appreciate some feedback before I forge forward with it, since I'm not totally familiar with the DM internals and where things are supposed to go.
