Good post. I never knew about dm-zone-types. We're actually still depending on EpochTime due to a whole load of legacy support for a PHP app.
Have you noticed any observable performance improvements? I remember last time you mailed the group you mentioned areas you were by-passing DM in places to get around bottlenecks, and Paul (learnable) brought this up with me too, suggesting that we might find DM to be too slow in the long term, though we haven't hit any observable bottlenecks yet and we're using 1.1.0.
