The Indian Railway network has been mapped comprehensively on
openstreetmaps. You can download the latest dump here:
[india-latest.shp.zip]<http://download.geofabrik.de/asia/india-latest.shp.zip>
The railways stations will be in the points.shp but the coverage is not
complete.

I had made this map with osm data a few months back. The black lines are
railroads:
