Otherwise there is a slight shift in the data and everything lines up one-to-one. I have worked with GADM over the years and know the pros and cons (it is one of the few global datasources that is somewhat consistent and free, however, there is NO documentation, NO support, NO updates, etc). So I call it junk because there is better data out there. Could you share your Karnataka shapefiles?
