Hi all, We had the pleasure of interacting with Dr. Vasudeva Varma, professor and the Dean (Research & Development) at IIIT Hyderabad, India.
His research interests are in the broad areas of Information Retrieval, Extraction and Access. More specifically, social media analysis, cross language information access, summarization and semantic search. He also works in the areas of Cloud Computing and Reuse in software engineering. He talks about his past work experience in the Silicon Valley and its influence on his future work. He elaborates on the genesis and development of IIIT-H Foundation and how it is curating a powerful incubation system for promising start-ups. He also discusses interesting problems he is working on and his views on the current ML scenario. He emphasized that there needs to be an efficient framework of investors and consumers to best utilize the latest research.
