Nisha - all companies are required to pay indirect taxes for their sales. Just like PAN card for income taxes, companies file their VAT proceeds with the State Governments using a TIN (tax indentification number) number. So depending on where a company is registered, the company would obtain a TIN from their corresponding commercial tax division>circle. I have a list of TIN numbers that I want to map to these commercial tax divisions/circles. Hopefully, then with a shapefile I will also be able to map these companies across the country. Something like the Bangalore link you shared is exactly what I am looking for - if I could only crack the TIN-LVO (local VAT office) mapping structure now!! Thank you.
