Hi, The onset of GST has made interstate border checkposts operated by commercial taxes department(different from toll plaza for roads) disappear[1], or so was the buzz and spin. But I pass through a modernized checkpost in TN-AP border with high tech capabilities.[2] So I don't know where it would lead to, but I think with FASTag linking to E-Way Bill, these modern checkposts might soon be thing again, even in states that did away with checkposts.
I used Overpass turbo with "find something near something else" query mode[3] on Openstreetmap and the query[4] returns all tags marked as toll_booth that are adjacent to state boundaries. OSM doesn't differentiate commercial tax checkposts and toll booths / there could be places where both overlap (Although I doubt so). But its a hacky way of getting the data. Do you have list of checkposts that are operational and are looking only for spatial data? If so, opening the list would be good starting point.
