Dear all, The Delhi datameet group has had a couple of meetups in May and June to take forward the project "open data catalogue for development" - which essentially will be a catalogue of datasets collected and released with an open license by development sector organizations in India. "Datasets" here mainly refers to the primary data collected by organizations during baseline/midline/endline/other studies conducted as part of programs and projects. From education, health, agriculture, water, sanitation, land etc. this catalogue aims to put together a comprehensive list of datasets available in the open domain, and the organizations actively involved in different development work.
Here are the notes from our last meeting: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ej8jegtKKQgT2ErrYaW_aHxFWgbZAEhkxT444tPlQa8/edit?usp=sharing The next meetup is scheduled for Saturday 29th June at the Base Station in Shahpur Jat. Please RSVP here: https://www.meetup.com/DataMeet-Delhi/events/262531347/ In the meetup: we want to finalize the metadata structure of the catalogue, release a temporary submissions form to start gathering datasets, and work towards a larger event in Delhi to promote open data practices among development sector organizations.
