Hello Maxime. Thanks for the prompt reply. When I was talking about "consulting", I guess I should have said "do it for me". And I will donate.:) I'm not very confident in my (lack of) abilities. I don't mind trying things, but when reading through these forums and see the "try this" posts, I would not even be able to complete those requests. One main thing would be to configure the crawler to focus on a topic. I have already about 1,000 topic-specific seed URLs. I'm hoping to index 20,000,000 pages. At present my (1) server is dual core opteron with 2 gb ram and 200gb IDE SATA on an upgraded port.
