Thank you maxime, the problem is if a user strips off the &tmplt=s.php the CGI will error since the template does not exsist, and cosmetic reasons as well :) i guess the same reason as running search.cgi as just search. The other question i had was is how to execute <!--#virtual="ads.php"--> in the search.htm if a hardcode can not be done to change the template to search.php which i think does not matter as the search.cgi parses the template which in short code such as a include does not get executed as apache/webserver does not actually execute the *.htm. What i am trying to do basicly is get ads.php to execute in search.htm so i can spew keyword relevant ads ( like google ) down the side. Thank you again for your help, i guess i am getting close to having to donate huh? heh - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Read the full topic here: http://www.dataparksearch.org/cgi-bin/simpleforum.cgi?fid=02;topic_id=1145587761
