Hi Bruce,
Hopefully you are not training programmers to take yet more work offshore...
I hope you are taking time to enjoy yourself there...
If there are any errors or omissions, or any comment you can make about the
stuff I posted I would appreciate it... Very shortly together with another
business partner, I will be starting a new business venture which will have
DP, both desktop and web enabled right in the core business... So I am
really very serious about getting DP to work well over the web...
Sorry to clutter up your time with this email, but you might remember the
company that purchased the company that used my main DP application and how
they were going to junk it... well 18 months later and they claim over Aust
$1,000,000 has directly been spent on the the software development, and they
still are ages away from from implementing it... So DP is still holding them
together, but regretably they are not making any functional improvements,
and you get zero work from supporting a DP database, so I can only have the
satisfaction that they were not able to get rid of DP as quickly as they
hoped...
Bye
Brian

Hi Brian,
This is very nicely done. I'm only into it a couple of pages, and will
report back again when finished.
I am currently in Bangalore, India along with my wife and some of the
children, training some engineers here (not in DP alas).
Best wishes,
Bruce

Hi Everyone,
I promised some time ago that I would document the work that I have been
doing with web enabled DataPerfect applications.
Because I was involved with a soccer club I have had an ideal test bed to
try out DataPerfect. This is not just producing static webpage but is
online interactive with the database.
Using DataPerfect as a backend web application may not be everyone cup of
tea, but it offers a myriad of opportunities if you are willing to give
it a go.
I started writing the details up as an email and realised it was way to
complex so I have set up a few web pages that tells the story. The
website it refers to is at: http://www.brileigh.net/bws and the story is
at http://brileigh.net/bws/story
I hope people can give me some feedback.
Thanks
Brian
