Hi Ed,

>From Ralph's book:
Here's a table outlining DataPerfect's various specifications:

DataPerfect Specifications

Number Size

.STR file 1 per application No limit determined yet

.IND file 1 per application 8 gigabytes

.TXX file 1 per application 534,773,728 bytes

Panels 99 per application 2 billion bytes each

Data Files 99 per application 2 billion bytes each

Fields 125 per panel (or

data file)

Numeric: 14 digits

Fixed-length: 78 characters

Variable-length: 64k characters

Records 16 million per panel

Indexes 200 per panel (or

data file)

2 billion bytes

Browse: 19

Create/Edit: 14

Reports 169 per application 64,000 bytes

Variables

9,999 editing same

record

I've got copies of text files that Lew included from DP26f onwards - and no
mention of increase from 99 panels in any of them (thats 26f,g & h & x)

I know it was originally 80 fields in a panel and suspect the 80 panels was
increased 99 when the number of fields was increased to 125 and I think that
occured in DP23c when the F5 function was restricted

Hope this helps - you should have 27 panels still to go :-)

Regards

Colin Roberts

Subject: [Dataperf] How many "PANELS" maximum in DataPerfect?

  Hello everyone.

The most recent official DP Manual copy I have is the DP23 manual and it
states maximum 80 panels for DP23.

I was wondering if anyone knows if this limitation remains true for the later
DP26x version.

My database is currently up to 72 panels and I may need to add more.

  Advance thanks for the info.

  Ed
