Wiebe - I've had experiences like you're describing and doing "the big clean" generally helps. I swear that a piece of lint gets into the data somewhere and screws things up. It has been some time since this has happened to me but I remember that when I exported the data and scanned it there were some ascii codes in there that shouldn't have been there are removing them cleared things up.
