I am not an expert like any of the others who have replied. But on occasion I
have too have had this problem, and have done all that has been suggested
without any success.

My solution has been too create a new report with exactly the same
specification. The report has then worked. (In some cases I have been able to
just copy the contents (including fields) from the problem report to the new
report.)
