Hi Michael,

I have not used Windows Vista however my understanding that you cannot directly
run a full screen MS-DOS program in Vista. Apparently you can run cmd.exe as a
full screen command window, and in theory you can execute a full screen DOS
program within it, but it is prone to crashes... If by chance you can get it
to run that way then you might need to create a Desktop short cut with a
command line:

    %windir%\system32\cmd.exe /c dp.exe

and a working directory the folder that dp.exe is located

Again this is all theoretical as I have not had any direct contact with Vista

By the way... Windows XP is scheduled to stop shipping in June this year,
wihch means from June not only will you not be able to buy Windows XP but also
that drivers will not longer be certified for it. I am sure many of you will be
dismayed at the prospect of DP and WP and other DOS programs or older Windows
programs potentially being "evicted" from your machine. InfoWorld has a
petition to ask Microsoft to extend the life of Windows XP. You can sign up at

Brian

  Subject: [Dataperf] Display limitation

  Dear Data Perfect Group,

Does anyone know how to overcome the limit imposed by the VISTA 32 bit
operating system which only allows a display within a window? Cannot figure
out how to get to full screen display, as we used to by pressing [Alt]+[Enter].
Can't even make the window bigger.

Sorry I don't contribute to the group (as I used to) but I'm out of computer
consulting (six years now), and am forgetting more about computers every day.
I do however, read and enjoy the postings of others.

For any help that anyone may provide . . ..

  Thank you!

  Michael Flamhaft

  P.S. Running 2.6e
