Dear Arthur,

Thanks for your reply. I agree with what you say about the ease of use and set up of DataPerfect and I understand a Windows version was in development at the WordPerfect corporation but was killed off - I would guess that it would have been an awesome piece of software.

Dear Micheal,

As far as I know (having made some very simple Access-apps years ago) "Access" of all software is/was "thee" absolutely complicated, user-hating, developer-bugging MS-product.

Perhaps Filemaker-Pro is a much better alternative, as far as I've seen the app a friend of mine made in it, also - like DP - quite easy to make user-friendly.
Does anyone know Filemaker well?

If DP was to be rewritten in 'windows'-looks it would be thee perfect DataBase for ease of use and developing. I know of no similar other handy data-base like DP.

Why has DP never been rewritten in the now-a-days-environment anyway ?????*

This is my response as a critical, ergo-loving user (and past-developer of DP-apps).

I have someone who wants to change from DataPerfect to Access/SQL for no good reason other than it's Windows and modern!

Can someone please help me list the pro's & cons of DataPerfect v's Access/SQL and the DP approach v's the "all data can be represented in a table" approach.

Thanks,

Michael
