Lincoln, you had me excited that WP5.1 was now been given away free by
Corel, but alas this link is for some of the extra files and not the core
program. The Vetusware looks like the original but I would run a virus
checker over it... But I am sure that this does not have a licence. If you
have your own licence and it is just to replace media thenthis might be a
good way to go...
I tried Corel's legal dept a couple of years ago to see if they would make
WP5.1 for DOS available, and they said no way Jose, I even asked if I could
buy a current version licence and use the old version instead and they also
gave me the same reply. (Thats a real shame because right up to the Corel
acquiisition you could backgrade a current licence to any version for any
operating system up to that version)
I wanted to get about 10 licences a few years ago, and I only managed to buy
one cheap copy from eBay, it was advertised as having a licence but when it
arrived there was no licence number... It did not cost much but it was a
lesson...
The reason I wanted so many WP5.1 was that I found in a similar the way that
DP can be used on the web, so WP5.1 could be used on the web. I had an
example, or rather, a proof of concept, running on an old webserver. It was
backended with a DP database. WP5.1 could generate a complex 50 page merge
document and deliver it back as a PDF to the browser in about 30 seconds. I
didn't do anything serious with it, because I couild not find enough
licences to make it viable, and the opportunity I had for this project has
now gone.
You can also look on the http://www.wpuniverse.com/ site and ask the members
there... Somewhere around there must be a pile of WP licences and media
stached away
