Hi Larry,

It is a while since I used Windows 95/98/ME but I think you might also have to change the attributes of the config.sys and autoexec.bat files.

Althernatively I think you can run sysedit (ie Start - Run - sysedit) which will load up various configurations files (including the autoexec and config.sys files) and edit them with that

Regards
Brian

Subject: [Dataperf] Booting Windows ME to DOS

Hi,

I am trying to get someone's computer to runa a DP application to run
when the computer is first turned on. The computer is running
Windows ME.
I edited the MSDOS.SYS file by changing the attributes to -S -H -R
and editing it as follows:

BOOTMULTI=1

BOOTGUI=0

LOGO=0

I don't know if this worked but I don't think so because when I edited
the config.sys file to

files=40

buffers=20

and the autoexec.bat file to

C:

cd\pal

dp pal

using windows editor, I could not save the changes. In other words I
edited the files, saved the changes, but when I reopened the files the
changes were not there.

Any suggestions?

Best regards,

Larry Neuton
