Hi Don,
Let me know the date you are arriving and your arrival details and I will pick you up from the airport. Even if we only catch up for a quick hello and a beer. Bye Brian [email protected] _____ From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Don Friedman Sent: Thursday, 5 February 2009 1:46 AM To: Dataperfect Users Discussion Group Subject: Re: [Dataperf] Are you there Don? :-) An off-topic message to Colin & Brian: Thanks for your concern but I'm firmly ensconced here in wintry Pittsburgh for another couple of weeks before leaving. Unfortunately our flight schedule has become a game of roulette with changing airline schedules and inherent problems. Quantas moved some of their flights and Air Tahiti Nui canceled an entire series of their flights leaving us scrambling to make adjustments. The net result is that we have merely an overnight left in Sydney, a day less in Papeete and more cumbersome connections once we get back stateside. Colin, my daughter told me that we were going to travel north while we were there and I assumed she meant Auckland. As it turns out she meant Nelson. So our time in Auckland is unfortunately limited to airport stopovers. This is a real shame because I would have loved to catch up with you and Rhoda recently got back from a tour of Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam during which she made friends with a group of Aucklanders who were on the tour and hoped to catch up with them as well. They are members of a motorcycle club. Brian, the revised airline schedule takes away the full day I had in Sydney. While Rhoda and Whitney (my daughter) visited there together, I've never been there. As it is I'll have about enough time to take a cab to the Opera House and back to the hotel. We arrive from Auckland at about 7 on Friday night and have a 10AM flight out to Papeete on Saturday morning. As you guys know, once one flight changes it interrupts the whole series of events and I did the best I could to make things work better but it was impossible to make it happen as I wished and I can't delay my return as I have serious election work on my plate timed with my getting back.
