I would grateful for help with the following query about the ;;v print
format suffix:

1. I have created a RV which includes a couple of printer controls (bold
on and bold off)
2. If I print the RV using eg a80;;v, the text/field which is selected
to be bold prints fine and the printed RV is truncated at the end. This
is exactly what I wish to happen.

However, if I enter the following in a report, eg

RV Text or another RV (all on one line)

then on printing the report the RV which has been formatted with ;;v is
no longer truncated but prints out its full length, ie with all the spaces.

Is this how a printed RV formatted ;;v is designed to work?

A related query is that since formats such A0A0 or A0 do not appear to
work with ;;v, the maximum length of a text string using just AX appears
to be 80 characters. That is regardless of the length specified above
A80 (eg A120 etc) on the first 80 characters will be printed if ;;v is
used. Is this correct?

Victor Warner.
