Hi there in Nederlanden, I'm new to DP and as a former user of WP for DOS and WIN 5.1 am quite excited about to collaborate with those playoing seriously witn DP 'on the cloud'
I've read carefully as addressed in the site all about HTML issues and that Apache is a better option by now than IIS for DP testing on the Internet. Sure, it's a rareness finding a Win Hosting for few $$ prone to load DP on the server side, I'd say that this procedure can be an option as getting a colocated server or a VPS is alwyas are hosting options but not actually cheap. Dynamic DNS 1. First buying a cheap .info domain at $ 0.89 at Godaddy (that's actual a TLD top level domain and will serve for the purpose ahead) 2. Subscribe for free to ZoneEdit.com (free DynDns service for free 5 domains). I've used almost for 10 years despite I'm not fully endorsing as if they site rolls with many hits a day probably the service wouldn't totally free, but guess this isn't the case. 3. Download a free DynDNS 'updater', which in turns change the dynamic IP assigned by the ISP and puts on DNS records so our 'domain.info' could be easily find. There are two : the one free is Zedyn (updater written in JAVA) 4. As the domain is now updated , now our broadband connection is serving our DataPerfect files through APACHE (i.e. version 2.2) That's it ! As described below no begging to weird techies to install DP on a webserver living in the cloud. Hope that helps. Myself can do a betatester job upon request.
