Hi Rich,
Are you sure that a panel with this many fields is the best design? I do not know the limit but you must be even getting close to filling up the screen, quite apart from max data fields. I know that it is not always possible, but does the panel lend itself to splitting up to into multiple 1:1 panels, or even 1:Many panels. Just as an example, phone numbers or email addresses are often things that get put on a main Contact Panel, but these days when people have home phones, work phones, faxes, one or more mobile phones; or people have multiple email addresses, they are often better split off into separate panels, and then you can additional information to each number or email address, such as the best times for that particular number or address etc and still probably save disk space, and it will generally be faster and might be easier to use You have of course to balance those things against useability, as splitting might make reports etc more complex. As I was working along, I realized that I might be exceeding the panel capacity when I was done. So I went back to my 2.3 manual and found that 80 fields were the max. Searching through my archived listserv messages, I found a reference to going past the 80 limit (Colin Roberts, I think), but no upper limit. So what are the limits in the latest version (2.6y)? TIA, Rich
