Subject: Re: [Dataperf] Setting to run dp in a network

Juan,

I know Tame will solve this issue. Before trying Tame (30 day free
trial available), do this:

1) Right click on the Desktop icon you use to launch DataPerfect.

2) Click on "Properties" (should be the last item on the menu flyout).

3) Click the "Misc" tab.

4) Set the "Idle Sensitivity" slider to "high".

If DataPerfect is still consuming too much system resources, get
Tame.

Re Brian's Windows 7 question, DataPerfect will not run natively in
the 64-bit version of Windows 7 displaying a message to "Contact
your software vendor to obtain a 64-bit version of your application."

I guess that would be Lou. Failing that, DataPerfect should run in:

1) Windows 7 32-bit version.

2) Windows 7 64-bit under Microsoft's Windows XP emulator that's
a free download for Windows 7 users.

3) Windows 7 64-bit under DOSBox a free open source DOS emulator
available here:
http://dosbox.com/

4) Windows 7 64-bit under TameDOS (as referenced above) here:
http://www.tamedos.com/

I hope this helps.

Hi Juan,

Presumably you are running Windows workstations so the best way of handling
CPU utilisation of DOS programs is by using something like TAME..

Edwanrd Mendlesohn's WPDOS.org website has some information about running
WordPerfect under TAME http://www.columbia.edu/~em36/wpdos/tamewp.html

In fact I suspect from what I have read (no personal experience) that it
might almost be compulsory under Windows 7. Has anyone got DP working
under Windows 7? Is that the 32 bit or 64 bit version? The WPDOS.org site
also has some recommendations and caveats about running WP
