Tony,

Off topic as it relates to DP but on topic as it regards our "community:"
After our CA reunion my daughter Whitney and my wife took a trip to NZ -
they picked it because it was a very long flight which I would tend to avoid
under most circumstances. It was the last spring break of Whitney's high
school career. They had a great time. During that following summer she met
an "older" young man from NZ who was in Pittsburgh as part of some kind of
traveling rugby team while she was working at a local department store and
when she accurately guessed where his accent came from one thing led to
another as it will with young people. She has been going back and forth to
NZ and during the last trip they married in part to better accommodate visa
requirement in both countries.

As I've already mentioned in the back channel to both Colin and Brian, we're
very pleased with the young man and over the years have gotten to meet his
mother and father both in visiting us here in Pittsburgh and last year when
we went to spend time with the two kids in Christchurch. Which brings me to
the "community" part of this message. Much to our delight and surprise,
Colin met us at the Auckland airport on our return leg and we had a great
chance to grab a cup of coffee and catch up. Upon arriving in Sydney (we
were on our way to Tahiti) Brian shows up and spends his entire evening
showing us the sites in the most generous of fashions. Where else would I
have met two wonderful people like that who would take their time and
interest like that?

I miss the continuity of our DP efforts but I have to believe that the
handwriting is on the wall. While I use it for my political business
internally, I have helped move all my legal and nonprofit applications to
other software that is current in design and usage. Teaching DOS commands
reminds me of how old I really am.

Best to you Tony.

Don
